Imagine you are paired with Genji in an exercise to build trust and friendly connections between operatives. The activity is simple: stare into your partner’s eyes. For two minutes. No talking, just stare.
You are shocked when Genji reveals his eyes to you. Despite the scars that littered his face, his eyes were so warm and inviting, you felt like you could stare forever. So, the two of you stare and it quickly begins to feel awkward for you. You feel as if Genji is looking into your heart and soul, anxiety building as you feel he’s finding all your imperfections and shortcomings.
But he just smiles. This causes you to lose your concentration for a second as you let out a soft giggle, but you quickly get right back to staring. How is he so calm? Does he not feel awkward at all? God, those eyes….
After what felt like hours, the two minutes were up and you let out a breath you didn’t know you were holding. Genji just chuckles and sheepishly scratches the back of his head.
“Wow, that was intense,” he says. “Never done that before. Felt a little awkward…”
He felt awkward!? Well, good to know you weren’t alone but wow is he good at hiding it.
“But, um. You have very beautiful eyes. It was a pleasure being able to look for so long.”
This has you swooning. You can feel the blush forming on your cheeks as you sheepishly thank him, telling him that his eyes are lovely as well.
This earns you the most adorable chuckle you have heard from the ninja.
“That was a very wonderful exercise, I think. Your eyes looked like they had so much to say. Would it be alright to ask you to lunch? I’d like to get to know you better.”
Hell. Yes.
YESSS!
