Valentine’s Day (Hanzo x Reader, Genji x Reader)

//Sorry for the lack of fics, been busy with the move. This is a hastily-edited version of something from my old phone lol. I’ve had trouble writing anything new lately.

//Happy Valentine’s Day!

>Hanzo

You bought handmade chocolates for your whole team from a mom-and-pop sweets store. After you hand out the chocolates to your ecstatic teammates, you see one last box at the bottom of the bag, with the name tag “Hanzo” on it. You scour the headquarters looking for him, but can’t find him anywhere. McCree tips you off that Hanzo is at the archery range outside because “That man thinks better with a bow than he does with his heart.” You put on your coat and leave the main building. The cold air nips at your face.

When you arrive at the archery range, you see Hanzo lining up a shot. He takes a deep breath, pulls the string back, then lets it fly. Bullseye. As usual. For a few minutes you just stand there and stare at him, admiring his marksmanship and finesse. He makes it look effortless. Watching a master at his craft was one of the most relaxing things, you thought.

In fact, it was so relaxing that your hand slipped and the paper bag fell to the floor. This startled Hanzo and his arrow flies more than a meter off-target. You scramble to pick up the bag. He quickly turns around and looks at you. His face is flushed.

“S-sorry,” you stutter. “I didn’t mean to disturb you but, uh… I came here to give you this.” You hand him the small box of chocolates.

“Oh… Thank you,” he says quietly, keeping his eyes on the box. As he takes the box from your hands, his fingers brush yours. They’re icy cold. “Hanzo…” you say, grabbing his hand. “You’re so cold, it’s freezing out here!” Hanzo silently stares at your hand, relishing the warmth. You swear his cheeks look redder than they were earlier. He opens his mouth to say something, but immediately pulls away from your touch, turns his head away from you and sneezes.

A month passes and you’ve barely seen Hanzo. He took a sick leave for two weeks after Valentine’s and busied himself with missions for the next two weeks. Occasionally, you would see him in HQ but he would immediately walk in the opposite direction once he noticed you.

One day, you wake up to someone ringing the doorbell to your house. You open the door and no one’s there. You look down and see a small box tied with a ribbon and a piece of white paper under it. Inside the box are a few messy, heart-shaped chocolates. You unfold the paper and saw only three small characters written on the sheet: “大好き”.

Confused, you take your phone out and scan the symbols for their meaning. You feel someone staring at you, so you look up. Immediately, you Hanzo peeking from behind a tree. He quickly hides. Your phone beeps, signaling that the search is done.

“I like you.”

>Genji

It’s Genji’s first Valentine’s Day in America and he wants to surprise you. He asks some of the single girls to take you out on the town so he can prepare. Then, he calls you and tells you he can’t take you out tonight because he’s on an urgent mission. You pout and make sure to sound super sad that you couldn’t spend the day with him, but Genji promises he’ll make it up to you tomorrow. His heart flutters at how cute you sound when you make a fuss.

You, D.Va, and Sombra spend the day window shopping. Sombra stops in front of a store and calls your name. You turn towards her and see she’s showing you a lingerie shop. She’s grinning ear to ear. She wiggles her eyebrows up and down and yells, “YOU’LL NEED THESE FOR TONI—” D.Va scrambles to cover Sombra’s mouth and whispers something in her ear. Sombra pouts and mumbles to herself and you continue walking down the shopping district filled with flower vendors and couples.

A few minutes later, D.Va’s phone goes off and she pulls Sombra aside while you watch a street performer balance a bike on his head.

Sombra comes up from behind you and blindfolds you. You’re confused but D.Va assures you nothing bad will happen to you. As for Sombra… Well… She just keeps cackling.

They sit you down and tell you not to move. You hear a door creak and then silence settles in. The first thing you notice is the heavenly smell. It’s reminiscent of a meal at a fancy restaurant. You gulp. It dawns on you that you forgot to eat lunch with the girls. You’re lost in your thoughts for a few minutes, then you hear soft piano music begin to play. Footfalls approach you from behind.

“Sorry for keeping you waiting,” Genji murmurs in your ear. The sensation of his warm breath on your cold skin send shivers down your spine. You hear a chair move and he tells you to take off the blindfold, and you do so. In front of you is a lavishly set-up table. There is champagne, lit candles steak, and an assortment of vegetables. To your left is a giant window overlooking the city. The sight is breathtaking.

Genji’s voice breaks the silence. “Do you like it?”

You turn to him and you’re literally face to face for the first time. In the candlelight you can see all of his scars and the metalwork on his jaw and neck. He looks tense and uncomfortable, but he forces a smile. You see a tinge of regret in his eyes as you look at him. Genji averts his gaze and looks intently at his mask on the floor next to him. He’s about pick it up when you say, “I love it.”

You smile and he relaxes, flashing you a genuine smile. “I’m glad,” he replies.

After dinner, you move to the couch and watch a movie together. You rest your head on his shoulder and he says, “That reminds me… I bought you something.” Genji brings over a large teddy bear and sits next to you again. He looks it over in his hands and says, “I… Um. I just thought you’d prefer to have something fluffy to hug. I’m not exactly… soft.” Then he offers it to you.

You pout and cross your arms, feigning anger. “Genji Shimada! I am offended.” He raises an eyebrow at you. You steal a kiss. Then five more. “You’re totally soft!!” You cling to his metallic body. “And I’d much rather hug you than a stuffed toy.”

He chuckles and pats your head. You nuzzle his neck and look up at him. He smiles down at you and kisses you passionately, gently pushing you onto the sofa. He straddles you and kisses your neck as you moan softly into his ear.

It would seem Sombra was right about the lingerie.

Could you please write that Genji is dying in reader’s arms? They sadly confess their feelings to him and tell him he’s not dying alone. That he goes loved and admired.

overwatch-reader-imagines:

Genji’s lights began to splutter, that familiar an reassuring green flickering in and out. Your chest tightened and you move your fumbling fingers across his weaker ones to take off his mask.

“It’s alright,” he said with a smile on his face, “Death comes to us all eventually.”

You gave a choked sob at that, wishing you were the one dying in his stead. You saw a flash of confusion cross his face and you just pressed your lips against his bloodied ones.

“I love you,” you said, “I regret not saying it sooner but I have for a while.”

His thumb gently brushed your cheek, his dark eyes peering into yours, “I care for you as well.”

You rested your forehead against his, feeling his chest heave with the strain of breathing. He pressed his forehead into yours as well, the two of you closed your eyes.

“You won’t be alone,” you said, your chest aching with unsaid words, “You’re loved and admired by everyone.”

“Thank you,” he said, his grip weakening on your arm as he died.

Genji comforting reader s/o on a bad night?

overwatch-reader-imagines:

You peered at your hands, the tears that streamed freely from your eyes were burning your cheeks slightly. You pattered through the house and crawled out the window, sitting on the roof.

The cool evening air nipped at your hands and feet and you just stared out, the stars twinkling so far away from you and your problems. Your knees tucked up into your chest.

You nearly jumped as a blanket wrapped around your shoulder and Genji settled down next to you. A hand slipped around your waist and you nuzzled up into his chest.

“Bad dreams,” you softly said, Genji giving a hum in response before rubbing your back.

The two of you just looked up, you giving a gasp as a light streamed across the sky. Slowly more and more meteors streamed across the sky, making your chest grow warm with awe.

god DAMN that reader cheating w/the Shimadas scenario broke my heart 💔 but i have a follow up: reader #2 witnessed everything behind the scope of Ana’s sniper while training late at night together. Ana calls the training off, and r#2 quickly comes in to do whatever they can to help Genji get space/comfort to cope (they’re friends). When things settle over, r#2 waits for a better time before asking Genji on a date. How does that go, and where does it lead?

[Original Post]

You were having a good time scoping the premises through the sniper’s lens. You felt so naughty peering in on some of the other operatives, but it was late enough that most everyone was asleep so you weren’t being too invasive.

Then, you spot Genji’s S/O creeping around. That was bizarre. The creeping, yes, but you hardly see them alone and without Genji around. Be it your insatiable curiosity or a need to size up the “competition” you decide to keep watching. You notice them confront Hanzo and— oh lord, are they making out? Holy shit. No way. Oh god. Do you tell Genji? OH SHIT THERE’S GENJI.

You watch helplessly as your dear friend runs off, likely very heartbroken considering what he just witnessed. Wow… what a heartless— you’d be sure to give Genji’s new EX a piece of your mind, but first you needed to comfort your friend. You explain the situation to Ana and she lets you go without question.

You rush to Genji’s room, where you assumed he ran to. This was the direction eh ran towards, so it was a safe bet. You raise your hand to knock on the door and hear a pitiful sniffle behind the door. Yep… he’s in there alright. You knock. There is silence. You hear Genji step up to the door and it is silent again. He was likely looking through the peephole to be safe. When he saw it was you, he opened the door, haphazardly putting his visor back on so you couldn’t see his face.

You gently explained how you saw everything that just occurred and Genji lets another whimper slip out.

“I don’t understand,” he mutters. “Why?”

You simply shake your head, completely flabbergasted by what has happened.

“They didn’t know what they had, Genji. They’re really missing out making a stupid choice like that. Anyone would be lucky to have a guy like you,” is all you say.

Genji silently invites you inside and you spend the rest of the evening consoling the ailing ninja. You were his shoulder to cry on and he made sure to thank you every time he could between sobs.

Several weeks have passed since then and Genji appears to be doing much better. He doesn’t so much as look in the same direction as his ex, but he seems very chipper and refuses to let them bring him down any more. It makes you sick to see them hugging Hanzo’s arm and showering him with adoration out in the open like that, though… As if Hanzo hadn’t done enough to his brother already. Still, you didn’t want to involve yourself in that. You were more interested in Genji.

The last thing you wanted was to catch him on the rebound, but you have wanted Genji for ages. You didn’t want to pass this opportunity up. You would be subtle about it, asking him out for casual outings and taking the time to get to know each other even better— if that was even possible. You two were close enough as it is.

After a few of these dates, you work up the courage to ask Genji if he’d like to get more serious. He… takes a few moments to think it over, but he eventually agrees. It’s more or less a testing the waters kind of agreement, though and he asks that you understand if he wants to back out later.

He never did. He’s been far more happy with you as his s/o, and he feels he can trust you to stay loyal waaay more than his ex. He does get a little clingy but you completely understand, given what has happened. Besides, you kind of like the attention. ❤

Would you do some headcanons for blind Soldier 76 x reader?

imagine-this-overwatch:

  • He really hates asking for help. He can usually handle himself just fine but there is the rare occasion he needs your eyes for something. He never asks for your help though. You have to volunteer to help without him asking.
  • Soldier loves running his hands along your face and enjoying your features. It’s like every day he finds something new to love about you.
  • He experiences a lot of self doubt, thinking you deserve much better than him. He fears his disability may be holding you back and you have to constantly remind him how much you love him for him
  • Actually tried going a day without his cane to show you how capable he is on is own. He ran into a lot of things and got hurt a bunch but hey people act stupid for the people they love.
  • Soldier appreciates any physical contact he can get from you. Even just holding his hand sends his heart soaring.

Reader dating Genji but falls in love with Hanzo.

imagine-this-overwatch:

You and Genji had been dating for awhile. You were his everything, the light of his life, and he made sure to let you know that every single day. It was sweet and all, but you feared he was getting to be a little… clingy. You understood he suffered a tragic past and finding someone to love must have meant a lot to him, but his obsession was only serving to drive you away. It’s like you couldn’t walk 5 feet away from him without him asking where you were going, or panicking about you leaving, or insisting he come with you. You needed your space!!!

But then… well after the Overwatch recall, a new man came to join the fight. A handsome man, a man wit a strong look in his eyes, a man that screamed of bad boy. You find out is name is Hanzo and just the sight of him gives you feelings you never had around Genji. You found yourself staring every time Hanzo passed you by. With each passing moment, you grew more and more attracted to him.

You just had to get closer to Hanzo.

You decide to sneak out of your room some time after curfew. It was the only time you had away from Genji. Now you just hoped Hanzo was still awake. You creep through the halls of Watchpoint: Gibraltar until you see Hanzo’s nameplate on a door.

With hesitation, you knock and you are surprised with how quickly Hanzo answers. Gosh, he’s even dreamier up close… Hanzo asks why you are here, and without much thought, you jump forward and press your lips to his. You run your hands through his soft, dark hair and let out a soft moan as the kiss feels even better than you imagined.

Hanzo stiffens at first and places his hands on your shoulders as if he was getting ready to push you away. But, he quickly melts and ends up returning the kiss with fervor. The two of you held each other close, melting in each other’s affection until you heard a gasp behind you.

You swiftly turn your head and see Genji standing behind you. He had a hand over his mask, as if he was trying to cover his mouth. Even through his visor, you could see the utter heartbreak in his eyes and before you could explain yourself, Genji sprinted away as he tried holding back tears.

Hanzo was quick to follow suit, hoping to comfort Genji and explain himself. Only now have you noticed the entirety of Hanzo’s name plate. Hanzo Shimada. He was… Genji’s brother.

Fuck.

Don’t Fear the Darkness

I’m gonna go sit and be anxious about this for a while. Read-more for length.

Genji grasped his side, blood and coolant mixing from his wounds. He gave a hiss of pain as his shifted his side slightly, his hand instinctively tightening at the feeling. He peered over at the dark house, figuring that he could always apologise if they find him patching himself up in there.

With a shuriken he pried the window open, slipping into the house, and closing the window behind him. His body went on edge at the sound of static filling the house, wondering if he’d walked into a trap. A tapping noise came into the room, and his hands shot up, trying to come up with a socially acceptable reason to be in someone’s house bleeding on their floor.

Genji’s words stuck in his throat with excuses buried deep in his chest then you just walked past him, cane tapping on the ground.

Confusion radiated from him until he saw the way you blankly looked forward, hands reaching out to touch the counters and move up to the window.

You gave a tsk, frustration spreading across you as you felt it was closed. That fuzz continued to spread around everything, filling everything with a haze that he couldn’t think through.
