Lúcio goes for that cheesy, over the top, totally joking approach.
There will always be a smile on your face and you may experience some abdominal pain from constant laughter.
Probably comes to pick you up for a date with a rose in his mouth, trying to act all suave and whatnot.
When in reality the date is probably just pizza at a local roller rink.
Genji:
#Anxiety
He wants to impress you so badly. Everything has to be perfect. If anything goes wrong he may die. His fans are probably running at max power since he probably can’t sweat so much anymore.
He will take you wherever you want! …But better. Want to go to a restaurant? He’ll make reservations at a 5-star place. A walk on the beach? He’ll take you to a high-class, clean, underpopulated beach. The list goes on.
Will shower you in gifts and compliments to distract you from his nervousness.
Just give him a good smooch and he’ll chill out enough to better enjoy his time with you.
He really hates asking for help. He can usually handle himself just fine but there is the rare occasion he needs your eyes for something. He never asks for your help though. You have to volunteer to help without him asking.
Soldier loves running his hands along your face and enjoying your features. It’s like every day he finds something new to love about you.
He experiences a lot of self doubt, thinking you deserve much better than him. He fears his disability may be holding you back and you have to constantly remind him how much you love him for him.
Actually tried going a day without his cane to show you how capable he is on is own. He ran into a lot of things and got hurt a bunch but hey people act stupid for the people they love.
Soldier appreciates any physical contact he can get from you. Even just holding his hand sends his heart soaring.
You spent some time on edge before Dr. Ziegler confirmed you were pregnant with Genji’s child (or ‘kitten,’ as he insisted on calling it). You went through several emotions upon hearing the news. You did this alone, because Genji was away on a mission. Your legs carried you to the cliff outside Watchpoint Gibraltar. Watching the cargo boats slowly float by always forced you into a calm. Contemplating the size of the ocean made your problems seem smaller in comparison.
You stood on the cliff, eyes scrunched, and deep in thought.
First, you were annoyed. You had gotten an awesome job with Overwatch, a group full of heroes you admired since you were a kid. It was the most adult thing you’d accomplished in your life, and getting pregnant interrupted that.
Then, you felt inadequate. A tiny human being was growing inside your tummy. Perhaps you weren’t up to the task of being a good mother. Maybe Genji would change his mind later, and the baby deserved a better situation than that to be raised in.
“I am back, my beautiful mate.”
You jumped, Genji’s voice interrupting your worrying. You turned around to find him crouching on the large, ball structure. His metal tail stood straight behind him, the tip flicking.
“Genji! You scared me!” you exclaimed. “But I’m happy to see you.”
You held out your arms and smiled, until Genji leapt down to approach you. You clung to his waist and pressed your cheek to his right chest plate. The heat from the green light in the centre of his chest radiated gently onto your nose. Genji wrapped you in his arms, and you wondered why you had worried in the first place. You were safe, and Genji didn’t impregnate you just to ditch you. He didn’t seem the type to do that.
Now you just had to tell him the important news.
You didn’t get the chance, because Genji took a small step back and lifted your chin with his hand. He put his faceplate to your cheek and slid it along your skin.
“I missed you,” he said, the slight echo behind his mask apparent because of how close he was.
You jumped again, cringing from his face.
“Cold! Cold!”
Genji chuckled. “Okay.” He left your personal space and removed his mask to hold it a hand at his side. He peered at you with naked, brown eyes. “How are you?”
Your hands came up to rub and twist against each other in front of your stomach.
“Ummm, about that…I’m pregnant,” you said, taking your hands apart to wait eagerly for his reaction.
Genji gasped slowly and loudly. You’d never seen such shock in his eyes. He fell to his knees, held your hips, and rubbed his cheek on your stomach.
Then he froze and looked up at you to ask, “Is it…are you…?”
“Healthy? Yes,” you replied, smiling. He smiled back and pecked your stomach.
His fingers flexed and relaxed a few times on your hips while he regarded with a mysterious emotion. Then he stood up. His cool finger and thumb held your chin.
“You should go rest.”
You expected more talking, but there’s plenty of time for that later. And you wanted to go cool off after spending time being jittery. You didn’t miss his lingering stare as you left. It wasn’t hostile, but it sent a shiver from the base of your skull downward.
You learned what that stare meant soon enough, when a simple kiss as a greeting turned into much more heated kissing with you backed against a wall in a side hallway. Genji allowed you some air, but only momentarily. He fiddled hastily with his codpiece.
“What are you-?”
Genji kissed you again, hardening cock in hand. You forgot what you were asking.
This happened several times before the baby started showing. Genji was in love with your pregnant body and couldn’t keep his hands off you.
“I have been thinking about you,” he would say, or something similar.
“Yeah…?” you would ask in reply, brain on vacation.
More kissing, some of him gently biting your bottom lip. You don’t remember. Poor man was so aroused by you that he often came on your body before he made it inside. On your stomach, or your back, from rutting between your asscheeks. The lust would clear from his eyes, temporarily, and remember that you, his darling mate, needed yours.
“Don’t worry, I’ll take care of you,” he’d say, taking your hand away from your crotch. Which you had been using rub yourself roughly through your clothing. Genji pulled your bottoms down and inserted his fingers into your underwear, rubbing against your clit on the way to your slick cunt. After slipping in two digits, he fingered you rapidly until you banged the back of your head on the wall. You gripped his wrist, whining, and adding to the pleasure of his fingers inside you by shoving a hand up your shirt to squeeze a breast.
Your legs seized and trembled as you came. Genji rubbed the special spot inside while you squeezed around his fingers. After, your skin dimpled from the chill from the thin layer of sweat you didn’t notice you had accumulated. You put an arm around Genji’s shoulder and leaned into him to keep your balance and pull up your bottoms.
“Someone could have caught us, but I kind of don’t care,” you said.
“Heh. I feel the same.”
You didn’t want to walk with your sore inner thighs. You gave him a “take care of me, my big, strong, man,” kind of look.
Genji pressed his metal ‘cheek’ to yours, this time not as cold, and slipped his arms under your legs and shoulders. He hefted you up to his chest.
“I got you into this, and I will take care of you.”
Genji carried you outside, and used the outer ledges of the watchpoint to get to your room. To be fair, he considered it his room as well, only storing his weapons in his old one. He moved his old picture frame with his younger self and Hanzo to yours. Something which you picked up and contemplated while Genji was away on a mission.
Upon arrival, Genji let you down onto your bed. You sat on the edge and smiled up at him mischievously.
“Is it naptime?”
“Is this going to lead to a catnap joke?” he asked flatly.
“Maybe,” you said, and he laughed quietly.
“Yes, a catnap.”
You got undressed, put on clean undies and a t-shirt, and climbed into bed. Likewise, he removed his face mask and the ribbon. You spent some time cuddling before you were ready to sleep. There was some shifting around, some ow’s on your part and subsequent sorry’s on Genji’s part. You ended up being the small spoon, with his arm around your waist. Your back quickly warmed his front, and his quiet, rumbly purr almost lulled you to sleep. But you had to ask something before you forgot.
“What will your brother think?”
The purring ceased while Genji considered his answer.
“I think Hanzo will be happy for us. He needs to understand that I am thirty-five, not the immature twenty-five that I was when I left Hanamura. This will help.”
“I hope so.”
You were comfortably sleepy and told Genji so. You twisted around to let him give you a quick goodnight-kiss, then you rolled over to face the other way to sleep.
“I will get up before you to talk to Hanzo. You sleep in.”
“Okay,” you replied.
Genji’s tail settled across your legs, and he purred until you both fell asleep. The contact and the gentle noise helped keep you anchored to the present and helped you feel safe, when otherwise you would have worried about the impending arrival of your baby and what it meant for your life.
“Hanzo, wait,” Genji said, putting a hand out towards him, “We did not call you here to make this awkward for you.”
You deflated in relief, and you put your hand to your chest. “Oh, thank god.”
Then you got nervous for a different reason. With both your favourite men here, there was a greater chance of embarrassing yourself.
“Why am I here?”
“No one’s making you stay-” Hanzo started to grumble.
“Hanzo!”
Genji’s small shout and your glare shut him up.
“Perhaps you would feel better if you were in charge of telling her…?” Genji asked him.
Hanzo glanced at his brother and bit back a remark about Genji taking too long to spit out the words, anyway. Then his eyes shifted to you.
“Genji and I discussed us…sharing you,” he said.
“You would…you would be willing to do that?” you asked.
“I am not entirely convinced,” Hanzo stated.
“Why?” you asked.
“I am not worthy,” he said, crossing his arms and looking elsewhere. He spoke as if it was an established fact that everyone knew, but you nearly went cross-eyed with confused frustration.
You sighed at Hanzo. “Can you believe this nonsense?” you asked Genji.
He put a hand to his hip and the other in front of his ‘face’. “I can, actually.”
You mirrored Hanzo’s body language.
“Hanzo? We’re always together,” you said. “Remember all the times you encouraged me?”
You planted your feet in the proper stance for using firearms. Held the gun using both arms for knockback. Then fired the handgun at the paper target across the room.
You missed the target, again, a hole in the far side of the white paper. Not even within the humanoid shape printed in black. You were the only one at the practice range right now, so you removed your ear protection and growled.
“I could do better, and I use a bow.”
“Excuse you, Hanzo Shimada,” you said, whipping around to glare at him. He was smirking at you. You spied the twinkle in his brown eyes. He was taunting you on purpose.
You’ll show that asshole, you thought, putting the noise-muffling earmuffs back on.
You landed the next three shots near the heart of the target, and the rest were good enough for your current skill level.
You grinned wide, proud of yourself. You almost jumped in place for joy, until one of the earmuffs lifted from your ear.
“I told you so,” Hanzo whispered in your ear before letting the earmuff fall back to the side of your head. You blushed at his close proximity, before getting annoyed and whipping around again to swing a fist at him. He hopped back and chuckled at you.
“Remember? I did so much better after I realized I could.”
Hanzo looked more thoughtful than pouty, and you seized the opportunity to keep going.
“And remember when I was having a particularly bad period that one month? You didn’t know what to do, so you brought me a whole chocolate cake. Because you heard women love chocolate.”
“A whole cake, Hanzo?” laughed Genji.
Hanzo wrinkled his nose at his brother.
“Hey, it was good,” you said, smiling gently at the good memory.
“Anyway, it is not a bad idea. Think about it. Hanzo and I are gone so often, that the two of us combined should be enough attention for one person,” Genji said, taking your hand and holding it by the fingers. His thumb rubbed your knuckles. Despite his covered face, the way he looked at you communicated that he wanted to do more than just hold your hand.
“Do you mind?”
Hanzo broke the intensity again.
“No!” you answered.
You strode over to him, and his eyebrows came together in confusion. Before Hanzo could ask what you were doing, you grabbed his face, forcefully applied your lips to his, and closed your eyes. He stared at you in shock for a second before his expression relaxed. You took the opportunity to rub your thumbs along the beard on his jaw. The hair was as soft as the hair on your own head.
You made a mental note to tease him about it later.
You both pulled away naturally at the same time. You got lost in each others’ eyes for a few sweet seconds before Hanzo looked to Genji and glared.
“I can feel your shit-eating grin from here!”
Genji giggled. You dropped your hands from Hanzo’s face. He looked at you again but without the glare.
“This is going to take some getting used to,” he said.
“I have seen stranger things in my travels,” Genji said.
“I have not,” Hanzo countered, glancing in his direction.
Genji shrugged.
“I,” you said, not completely confident in putting your feelings into words, “think I like this. No one gets hurt…assuming you two can behave.”
“It might take some time,” said Hanzo, quietly. His eyes wandered your face and then downward.
“Eyes up here, Hanzo,” you told him, patting the underside of his chin. He blinked.
Genji walked past you both, his ribbon trailing behind him.
“I have other things to do while you both get used to this arrangement…”
So yeah. This turned out WAAAAY different than I planned. Super different. Went from a tough gal who would call Hanzo out, to a gal who’s feeling real awkward about the team seeing her practically undressed. Such is my brain. Anywho, still liked this and I hope you will too.
Female reader insert, 2,800ish words (CAUSE OMFG I CAN’T KEEP ANYTHING SHORT), no warnings I can think of.
The base at Gibraltar was technically up and running, but it wasn’t exactly running at full speed. An old friend and colleague of yours had asked you to join the recall in her place about two months ago – which you proudly did – but in that time the power had gone out three times, all of the refrigerators had given out, and the roof had sprouted umpteen leaks. Overwatch was great, it really was, but holy shit did this place need some updating.
Notes: For those who don’t know, this is sort of a continuation tothis requested by the lovely anon above.
I usually do requests in the order I receive them, meaning there’s one I should have released first, but with all the hype around @imagine-this-overwatch ‘s Genji idea
and my imagine based on it, I decided to make an exception
Also, I imagined Genji wearing less armor than his Blackwatch skin for this because I believe a lot of his armor is actually removable and most of the pieces are actually held together by a main one
Sorry if it’s not that good but I’m tired. It’s rather late… (Shit I forgot the title rip)
Enjoy!
Genji shivered as the morning breeze flooded the kitchen when he opened the window. The little skin that his plating or the robe he stole from you didn’t cover rose in goosebumps while he prepared his and your morning dose of caffeine. His hands unconsciously rubbed over the purple bruises that littered whatever portion of his neck was still skin, bruises that had been part of a ritual you had started the night before as a way to cleanse his head of self-deprecating thoughts through the most passionate worship you had done to him in ages.
It was ironic, really, how he preached, at the beginning of your relationship, that you should love yourself and how he showed you how perfect you were, but now the roles had reversed because of your own child.
@imagine-this-overwatch did an idea with genji having a child that was afraid of him but I wanna try and turn that around because, why not? This is also a small gift for @demialwrites because that lovely writer needs happiness
——–
Genji sighed looking down into his glass of water at the dinner table as he smacked it lightly and watched it shake as violently as the storm outside. Wind was blowing, and rain beat heavily against the window. You had been trying to show your child that genji’s body was nothing to fear, through trials this didn’t work, the child would cower in fear or flinch and run away from him.
The power slowly flickered above you as you shut your child’s room door, while the child shook in fear from the storm above, the nightlight flickered along with the rest of the house causing small scared gasps anytime the child became engulfed into the darkness of the night and tree branches tapped against the child’s room window as if a monster tried to break in, rain sounding like clawed feet running along the roof as if threatening to tear through it shingle by shingle, wind mixed with thunder sounding like the growls from the stomach of the monster wanting to break into the child’s home to reach their room.
Lightning flashed against the walls of the room creating frightening figures of claws and fangs, as the room fades back to the black of the night. The child looked around breathing quickly and surveying the entire room as if their life depended on it and they’re fear filled eyes fell on their closest door that remained opened from the child’s attempt to put the toys they owned away.
The child heard a the crackle of thunder as a ball fell from the closest and the child shrieked, leaping out of bed and running blindly to the nearest source of light. The child dashed down the stairs with tear and fear filled eyes searching for their mother who was asleep, as the child hid into the nearest corner ready to scream and cry, a shine of luminous green light shone through from the hallway as genji was putting candles out in the kitchen, preparing to head to bed.
The child followed the light as fast as they could and clung to their fathers leg as if for dear life, shaking violently and crying.
Genji’s heart felt as if it stopped as he seen his child actually touching him, he knelt down and the child pulled him into a hug crying, hiding their face under his head and begging not to let the monsters outside get them.
Genji held back his tears as he held his child in return and promised to protect them with his life, he picked them up and walked to the living room with two candles and a book for the child, promising to stay with them as they slept to protect them.
After lighting two candles near the table and setting on the sofa with the child curled against them with a blanket, genji read a story to the child and pointed out happy thoughts of each photo in the book until the child fell asleep against their father.
As promised genji stayed with the child throughout the night on the sofa until morning when you arrive from your room to see the lights back on in the house, and both genji and the child on the light blue sofa, genji is asleep with his arms wrapped around the child Protectively, as the child was wide awake against him reading the book and wrapped in a blanket.
You hadn’t seen a happier sight in a whole year, as you lean on the door frame and say to the child “your dad isn’t that scary is he?” You ask the child who smiles and looks up at their father and says “he protected me from the outside monsters, just like he promised” they lean against him even more and whisper lightly “I love you daddy.”
Thunderous little steps–definitely not ninja-like–storm through the pitch-black house, terrified gasps of “papa-ue, papa-ue” beating against the otherwise silent air.
Streaks of green paint the darkened halls in illegible patterns, transforming them from the unfamiliarity terrifying corridors into a majestic path toward the cyborg ninja. It didn’t take long for child and father to unite.
Small, trembling hands wrap around one of Genji’s legs, freezing him in his path. Behind the mask, his eyes widen. His heart begins to hammer, an unfiltered dam of emotion flooding every organic and synthetic fiber of his being.
His child actually holding him. Of their own accord. Touching him instead of recoiling in terror like so many times before. He must be dreaming.
“Papa-ue, prot-protect me from the dark,” his child hiccups. “It–it’s scary.”
The emotion that threatens to overwhelm him dampen, a wisdom of memories long past resurfaces. He supposes he understands what it’s like to be afraid of the dark, of what lies beyond the unseen. He slowly kneels down, adjusting his armor’s brightness to the highest setting it could go. It illuminates his child’s face, and gingerly, Genji runs a thumb over a chubby cheek, not quite wet with tears, but almost.
“Do not worry. I will be your knight in glowing armor.”
“Really?”
He laughs lightly, a little elated. “Yes. I will protect you from any monsters in the dark. For I am a cyborg ninja.”
A few fancy hand gestures accented by a trailing fade of green easily captures his child’s attention, fearful shaking slowly forgotten. Eventually, he’s able to free himself from the death grip his child has on him (as much as he’s reluctant to leave it) to draw in the darkness with his armor and lights, highlighting the darkness like a firefly and with the grace of a butterfly.
By the end of the cyber ninja light show, his child no longer seems riddled with fear, but with a joy that Genji has only ever observed from a distance.
“Did you have fun?” the younger Shimada asks, kneeling down as close as he dares.
To his surprise, his child grabs him and holds him around the neck, and although he cannot feel it, swears he gets a kiss and a quiet, “I love you, papa-ue.”
Imagine you are paired with Genji in an exercise to build trust and friendly connections between operatives. The activity is simple: stare into your partner’s eyes. For two minutes. No talking, just stare.
You are shocked when Genji reveals his eyes to you. Despite the scars that littered his face, his eyes were so warm and inviting, you felt like you could stare forever. So, the two of you stare and it quickly begins to feel awkward for you. You feel as if Genji is looking into your heart and soul, anxiety building as you feel he’s finding all your imperfections and shortcomings.
But he just smiles. This causes you to lose your concentration for a second as you let out a soft giggle, but you quickly get right back to staring. How is he so calm? Does he not feel awkward at all? God, those eyes….
After what felt like hours, the two minutes were up and you let out a breath you didn’t know you were holding. Genji just chuckles and sheepishly scratches the back of his head.
“Wow, that was intense,” he says. “Never done that before. Felt a little awkward…”
He felt awkward!? Well, good to know you weren’t alone but wow is he good at hiding it.
“But, um. You have very beautiful eyes. It was a pleasure being able to look for so long.”
This has you swooning. You can feel the blush forming on your cheeks as you sheepishly thank him, telling him that his eyes are lovely as well.
This earns you the most adorable chuckle you have heard from the ninja.
“That was a very wonderful exercise, I think. Your eyes looked like they had so much to say. Would it be alright to ask you to lunch? I’d like to get to know you better.”
