I heard season 4 is gonna have overhaul (and bnha is also a manga series) and overhaul has a DARK time, im avoiding spoilers but his arc was made because in a hero society that “This is how bad things can get” and my only warning if brace yourself demial, brace yourself anon, its gonna be a bit fucked up

Overhaul? Is that a hero, or a verb? And naw, I don’t wanna know these things! D: I still haven’t seen the movie that apparently exists. I will, though.

Okay not starting drama or anything I swear and im not supporting pedo stuff its gross but has anyone ever notice that in high school (typically ages there being 15-18, 15 being freshman and 18 being senior) that teens dont naturally listen to adults or wait to be exclusively 18+ to have nsfw activity (drugs, sex, language) so I’m guessing a bigger major question would be, why do some people get upset for fics sometimes like that and include tags stating ‘By Real life standards’ or ‘In reality’?

I don’t know these tags, because it’s rare that I come across these kinds of fics, but I will try to address this. This might end up being long, so I’ll put a cut.

I think in big part, because Tumblr is an echo-chamber and a circlejerk. People are encouraging each other (whether it be good or bad).

Also, because consuming and enjoying literature with mature themes and teenage characters is automatically a slippery slope to enjoying mature things with teens irl. I’m not saying that’s true or not. This is just why I think people freak out. You don’t know if an adult is reading these fics.

And tbh, idc. There are plenty of published novels with mature themes with teenagers and children in them. Sometimes, it’s just teens being teens, and sometimes, the writing is fucked up. And that’s the point. It’s like rubbernecking while driving by a tragedy. It’s engrossing, and you can’t look away.

People should read these things if they want, but with a critical eye. That is my opinion. For example, I read Lolita, and while it disgusted me, it also impressed me. The author made you almost sympathize with a pedophile. It shook me to my core. But I was aware that what the narrator did was wrong, and I could appreciate the effect the novel had on me. The effect being the almost-sympathy.

If someone is reading these things for the sake of reading about teens having sex and getting off on it, well that’s different, of course. And you may disagree that published novels and fanfics can’t compare in this context, but I do think these judgemental people will judge others for reading those, too.

I’ll be honest about that too, i just started yesterday around midnight and not many know me or even send asks (its okay though, give me time to think up ideas!) and so im @building-my-dream-world and honesntly i only have two posts and my open submit box and open ask box, rules and one post about someone asking about one of my OCs and then me fixing my rules lol

I’ll give you a follow! Good luck to you. ^^ @building-my-dream-world <–link for u guys

pt2 sorry for the small vent and all that im not trying to get sympathy or anything i promise, just i wanted to say my cause (and i’ll make a post too on my blog) but i never want anyone to feel inclined to donate that would break me, heck even liking my work would give me the boost to want to write more lol but yeah sorry for the vent spill

It’s perfectly fine, Anon! I mean, it’s not like you’re gonna lock all your work behind a paywall. Especially, if that’s not what you want to do. The writing flows better when the writer is happy, not when you’re worried about what everyone is gonna think of you.
